Resolution 07-11

Authority Member ________________ moved approval of the following resolution:

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN OF THE AUTHORITY TO SIGN A FIVE YEAR CONTRACT WITH QWEST CORPORATION TO PROVIDE A POINT TO POINT T1 WIDE AREA NETWORK FOR USE BY THE AUTHORITY.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Restated Intergovernmental Agreement, the El Paso – Teller Emergency Telephone Service Authority (Authority) was established for the purpose of generally administering the operation of a two county-wide emergency telephone system; and

WHEREAS, the Authority issued Request for Proposal 2007-100 for interested vendors to submit returns for providing a Wide Area Network (WAN) as required for the operation of GIS and Regional CAD; and

WHEREAS, three vendors submitted bid returns in response to the RFP and the selection committee determined that Qwest Corporation provided the bid that best met the needs of the Authority, and was the financially desirable bid for the Authority.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:

The Authority authorizes the Chairman of the Authority to sign the necessary agreements with Qwest Corporation for the Wide Area Network for a period of five years.
