Subject: Emergency
Responder Map Book
Policy: The Enhanced 9-1-1 Authority shall
follow a standardized procedure for offering Emergency Responder Map Books and
Updates to the Police, Fire and EMS agencies of El Paso and Teller County.
Purpose: To provide all personnel with the
necessary understanding of how the Emergency Responder Map Book is prepared,
published and updated.
Procedure:
- Updates
of street centerline and other shape file layer information will be
continually updated at the El Paso – Teller 9-1-1 Administrative Offices.
- Response
agencies will receive an initial set of unbound map pages in the number as
specified by the appropriate person within their department.
- A
representative of the response agency will be required to sign an
acknowledgement form upon receipt of the maps requested. The purpose of
this form is:
- Acknowledge
the actual receipt of the number of map book pages requested.
- Acknowledge
that the map pages are to be used for emergency response and emergency
planning only.
- Each
set of map pages carries the following: “The El Paso – Teller 9-1-1-
Authority makes no warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy or
reliability of the information contained herein, and shall not be liable
for errors or for any damages that may result from the use of the
information. Any download for commercial intent or resale of the
information is prohibited, except in accordance with a sublicensing
agreement, and will be enforced in accordance with approved County
policies and Colorado State Law. Please be advised that any disputes
regarding the mapping of this data will be referred to the originating
sources of the data”.
- Acknowledge
that the map data is for the use of the agency and is not to be shared
with unauthorized agencies.
- The
GIS department of the El Paso – Teller County E9-1-1 Authority will
maintain a current email address list of the agencies for the purpose of
advising them when map page updates are available on the Authority web
site.
- All
participating agencies will download and print the required updated pages
that affect their agency. Downloading and printing of the updated pages is
the sole responsibility of the agency.
- Participating
agencies can request the Authority office to print additional map books,
however the following fee will be invoiced:
- Complete
El Paso or Teller County map books will be produced at a cost of $25.00
per book.
- District
maps and other map pages will be produced at a cost of $5.00 for up to 25
pages and $10.00 for 26 pages and above.
- Responders
are the front line personnel who know when changes and additions are
required in the map pages and are encouraged to contact the Authority
office in a timely manner with those updates.
