Subject: Procedure for PSAP Instructors used for the Fire and Police Protocol
Policy: The El Paso – Teller County Enhanced 9-1-1 Authority shall follow a standardized procedure when using fire and police protocol instructors who teach Authority sponsored classes.
Purpose: To provide a procedure that can be followed by all involved parties.
Procedure:
(1) All police and fire protocol classes will be scheduled by the Dispatch Protocol staff member.
(2) Instructors from various agencies will be scheduled to instruct classes and will be doing so on agency time; hence the Authority will make no payment to the instructor.
(3) In return, the Authority shall pay for all recertifications required by the agency instructors. This shall be the payment of any costs not incurred by the National Academy of Emergency Dispatch, subject to the rules of Authority policy on conference funding.
