Leadership Training

Full Description

This 16 hour workshop is for public safety Communications supervisors and managers. Concept Leadership Development is committed to assisting today’s leaders and emerging leaders to develop the skills, vision, courage, ethics and personal leadership style to become the leaders they are meant to be. We are committed to helping law enforcement personnel be prepared for the ever-changing landscape of law enforcement in today’s challenging environment.

This workshop is designed to provide a contemporary professional growth opportunity for professional staff Communication supervisors and managers to explore the various leadership concepts involved with the ongoing appraisal of workplace productivity and personnel performance evaluations. Students will be instructed in facilitator led discussions including:

 

  • Employee Performance Analysis
  • How to speak and write the language of performance
  • Clearly communicating expectations and provide effective feedback about performance Effective performance documentation and meaningful personnel evaluations
  • Common appraisal mistakes and personnel considerations
  • Organizational pitfalls
  • Leadership characteristics and performance accountability

The Instructor for this workshop is Laura Hanlon, a 29 year law enforcement veteran and retired Police Lieutenant.  Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Administration from the University of Redlands, and a Master of Arts degree in Public Sector Leadership from St. Mary’s College of California. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Los Angeles Police Department Leadership Development program, California POST certified law enforcement Executive Development School and California POST Supervisory Leadership Institute. As the Owner and Director of Concept Leadership Development, Laura trains law enforcement supervisors and managers nationwide.
